Troubleshooting

  • Why do I get density variations and dirty film from my processor?
    • Irregular maintenance can cause density variations and dirty film. The following preventative maintenance procedures have been shown to prevent film density variations and reduce the appearance of dirty film coming out of the processor.

      1. Change the developer and fixer filters once a month with a 20-micron size filter. This allows the chemistry to turn over and provides good agitation.
      2. Change the water filter on the in-coming line to the processor once a month with a 5-micron filter. This keeps dirt out of the spray nozzles.
      3. Drain the sediment from the hot water heater every 3 months. Drain the sediment from the bottom of the tank for 10 seconds. You will see the water go from a milky white to a clear appearance. This eliminates water deposits from reaching the wash baths.
      4. Clean the wash tanks monthly with 1 cup of household bleach in each wash tank. This keeps algae from building up in wash tanks.
